AI-Generated Code Submissions Are Overwhelming Godot Maintainers

Godot game engine maintainers are struggling with a growing flood of AI-generated pull requests on GitHub, according to repository maintainer Rémi Verschelde. Contributors are submitting LLM-generated code they may not understand, forcing maintainers to spend increasing time verifying authorship, testing, and code quality. Verschelde said the project is exploring solutions including automated detection and potentially moving platforms, but called additional funding to hire more maintainers "the only viable solution." GitHub acknowledged the problem in January and recently added options for maintainers to restrict pull requests.
