
IBM says it plans to triple U.S. entry-level hiring in 2026 while redesigning those roles around work AI is less suited to handle, including customer-facing and interpersonal responsibilities, according to HR chief Nickle LaMoreaux at Charter’s Leading with AI Summit. The company says many junior tasks from two to three years ago are now automatable, so job definitions are being rebuilt to emphasize human contribution rather than routine coding and administrative work.
