Nvidia CEO Predicts Human-Capable Robots in 2026

Nvidia’s chief executive Jensen Huang told Sky News at CES 2026 that robots with human-type capabilities could emerge this year, reflecting rapid advances in physical artificial intelligence and robotics. Huang said the pace of technological progress means “you’re going to see some pretty amazing things,” and framed the arrival of such machines not as a threat to jobs but as a solution to global labour shortages. While humanoid robots and other autonomous machines were ubiquitous at the Las Vegas tech show, many remain limited in autonomy and functionality. Industry leaders believe combining improved motion, sensing and generative AI models could unlock more capable robots, though widespread practical deployment beyond controlled settings like factories may take longer. Despite uncertainty over timelines, Huang and other tech figures see physical AI as an accelerating trend with implications for manufacturing, logistics and the broader workforce.
